For a change I decided to post some design work from uni, it seems like ages ago when I last posted uni/design related work on here.

I won’t go into much detail here, since the boards already provide a commentary of sorts. If you want to read them click on the images and you can access larger versions on flickr.

Doing these boards and another set for industrial design in 4/5 days was no easy task. But its over, I’m happy about the result so I’m not gonna bitch about it.

Needless to say I’m quite proud of these, everything from the board design and layout to the renderings and drawings.

I would have liked to be able to computer render all my images but decided not to due to various factors.

So I’m back in Malaysia, earlier than expected. Flight was messed up, the computer system at Coolangata airport went down so we were in queue for 3/4 of an hour before they decided to check us in manually.

Finally it was done, went in the plane, fell asleep, woke up 2 hours later and we’re on the ground. Upon further inspection I realise we’re still on Australian ground. Bummer!

But Alas I’m now in Malaysia, and I’ll be off snorkeling/scuba diving at the east coast in a couple of days.

As for the photos they’re just Malaysian themed and were taken back in 07.

Was walking around Southbank sometime during the semester, for one reason or another, and I came across this. I initially didn’t think too highly of this car, sure its and Audi which I love but somehow I didn’t really fancy the A5.

That was until I saw it in person. Love at first sight?

I was going through my gallery on flickr looking at some old photographs from the trip to NZ, and I realize that the way I process my HDR’s back then was very different to how I do it now, the results back then were some what flat due to the lack of blacks in the photograph, and while they do seem more vibrant than non-HDR images,I don’t think they do justice to the scene.

So I revisited some of those old photos that I’ve yet to post, and process them the way I do now, with a bit of tweaking in Lightroom these are the results.

Much better than what I did 5/6 months ago, the images seem more contrasty, and I think these 2 have become one of my favorites from NZ. First one was processed with a very cool tone hence the chilly feeling of the water, while the 2nd one was processed with a slightly warmer tone.

Back when I was younger, I used to dislike people with messy rooms, I never understood how a bedroom can be so messy and how people live in them. ironically now I’ve turned into one of them.

And I finally  get why things turn out that way, and the parallels between the state of a room and a person’s life.

This is the result of having a design project due in the next few days. I ended up moving to the kitchen bench to work - because this is simply unworkable - and it ended up something like this.

More shots of the Devil’s Bath from Wai-o-tapu, Rotorua. NZ. The green pool is natural, its apparently the consequence of excess water from the Champagne Pool mixing with sulphur and ferrous salts. The colour changes from yellow to green depending on reflected light, clouds above and arsenic content.

This time I didn’t over post process it with textures and what not, having said that it’s gone through the usual HDR processing of course.

Amidst all that due dates I have to meet, somehow I manage to find time to visit display homes for the past 3 Sundays. And this is one of many gigs of pictures that came out.

And this next one was taken while doing a site visit/scouting for an assignment. HDR photo as usual, treated with some textures and a change of hue.

This was one of my favourite features of the thermal park, purely because of the colour. And because of that I’ve saved it for the last, that’s right this is the last photo from Wai-o-tapu thermal park in Rotorua NZ. There are several more repeats that I may or may not post in the future, but this is the last official photo of the set.

This is also the first time I’ve played with overlaying textures on a photo, and I quite like the results especially in the 2nd one. Naturally I’ll be experimenting more with textures in the future.

Waves has got to be one of the most interesting subjects to shoot. Wish I could have been up close in this one below. After we were done here we went into town and I saw this awesome photograph of a gigantic wave forming a wall of water.

This would be my first HDR photo from the 75 - 300 lens.

Just digging up some old photos from NZ, trying finding something post worthy, seeing as I’ve neglected this blog for the past week. To be fair it’s been a hectic week, in which I didn’t get much sleep in.

P.S. I’m looking for new locations to shoot, or just looking to go out shooting, if anyone has any suggestion or would like to join that would be great.
